Penis Implants, also known as penile prostheses, are usually used to treat men with chronic impotence. Chronic impotence is a form of erectile dysfunction, and refers to a man’s inability to achieve and maintain an erection. Most men will experience some form of ED at some point in their lives. This is completely normal, and usually treatable with supplements such as those featured on MaximumVirility.com.
The causes of impotence, and erectile dysfunction in general, are varied, and include both physiological and psychological phenomena. On the physiological side, diabetes, prostate cancer/surgery, lack of exercise and general physical fitness, obesity, alchohol, caffeine, or other substance abuse,
prescription medications, atherosclerosis, pelvic fracture, and vascular disease are just a few to name.
On the psychological side, you have all manner of life stresses whether they be marriage-related, financial, family, professional, or a combo of all the above. It is also important to realize that often times there is much overlap between the physical and psychological. You may be on medication while recovering from a surgery (physical), and that medication makes you depressed (psychological) which in turn leads to your impotence or erectile dysfunction. So back to implants. Penile implants have been used for a long time, but there recent history, in terms of more sophisticated medical practice, dates back to 1950. A physician named Dr. Scardino evidently implanted the first synthetic material into the penis.
If your impotence is in fact chronic, and not a passing issue, then you may consider penile implants or prostheses. How it works is that implants are implanted into the paired or sliced corporal bodies of the penis. There are really two major categories of penile implant. One category involves the implanting of a rod into the penis. These rods can either be very rigid, kind of rigid, or malleable. Obviously these implants give you varying degrees of erection, depending on your needs. The other category involves implanting inflatable prostheses. Within this category, there are also several options, depending on your needs.
We can provide more information to you if necessary, but of course we would recommend that you consult with a qualified physician if you have chronic impotence and feel that a penile prosthesis might be the right choice for you.
